Super Simple Valentine Wreath

Hi Everyone,

I have been using my machines a lot lately and decided to give them the day off for this project! I found the wreath for about $3 with coupon at hobby lobby and knew I could spruce it up just a little :-)

I picked out my ribbon first and then found some paper in my stash that went with it. I cut the paper into 12 inch strips and scored at every half inch. I then folded on the lines like an accordion. I taped it together to form a circle and then made it lay flat to look like a flower. I then punched a 1 inch circle and hot glued it to the back so it would stay together.

The "LOVE" sentiment and the twine is from Pink by Design. I hot glued it on with a button that I had laying around and then glued them how I wanted onto the wreath. I am really happy with how it turned out!

Have a beautiful day!

Fun Birthday Gift idea Part 2

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I showed you some fun aprons that I did for a birthday gift. Today, I am going to show you the rest of the gift. This idea can be used for other celebrations or holidays also, just change up the sentiment on it.

I found this adorable idea on papertrey inks site. I wrapped a box of cake mix with two pieces of cardstock. Box sizes are all a little different so just measure it out before you do it. I then added a strip of card stock that I had scored to fit tubes filled with sprinkles. I found my tubes at hobby lobby in the jewelry section. I believe I got six of them for less than two dollars with my coupon! I then used another piece of cardstock to make the cover that goes over the tubes.
I then wrapped one piece of ribbon up and around both sides of the box to give it handles and make it sturdy. I can carry it by the handles and it holds the weight perfectly.

The front pocket I designed on my own my measuring, cutting and scoring until it fit. I used one of my border punches for the top.

I found the zebra print paper at hobby lobby and thought it would be perfect to match the aprons from yesterday. I then used the print and cut function on my silhouette to get the cute cupcake tag for the front.

To finish it off, I hand cut the flap on the top and secured it with velcro. This makes it easy to open it to get to the sprinkles! The twine and Happy Birthday sentiment are both from Pink by Design!

I absolutely love how this turned out and I am definitely going to give a lot of these this year! So easy and inexpensive to do!

Have a great day!

Fun Birthday Gift idea!

Hi Everyone,

I have a super fun gift idea for you today. We are going to a birthday party in a couple weeks for adorable, soon to be 4, twin girls! I was really struggling with an idea for a gift because they have EVERYTHING!! I decided to walk through Hobby Lobby and see if I could get any inspiration and came across some adorable child size zebra print aprons. I thought it would be super cute to put their first initial on each apron and then give them baking stuff that they can do with their mom :-)

I ordered some t-shirt heat transfer vinyl in a really pretty sparkly pink and used the Curlz font on my computer to make the initial. The cutting and transfer took all of ten minutes! I LOVE how they turned out!

Didn't they turn out cute?! The pink is brighter than it shows in the picture and really stands out! The little gift you see with the aprons is a sneak peak! I will post that whole project tomorrow!

Have a great day!

Bling!

Hey Everyone!!

Last March, I tried a Zumba class for the first time and absolutely LOVED it! It's a great cardio and lower body workout, plus it is so much fun!! I love when exercise doesn't feel like exercise!

I have a pair of plain workout capris that I always wear to Zumba and just got the Rhinestone Heat Transfer Kit on Saturday. I cut the rhinestone zumba template on my silhouette and used my iron to transfer them on!

This entire project took me 10 minutes and I love how it turned out!

Cute huh?! Can't wait to wear them to Zumba tonight ;-)

Check back tomorrow because I will have another heat transfer project up and you won't want to miss it!!

Have a great day!

My First Subway Art Project!

Hi Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you my first "Subway Art" Project! I got this hard 9x12 canvas for free from Michaels a few months ago and was just holding onto it until I could figure out what to do with it.

I thought it would work great for something Valentine's Day and I had a bunch of red vinyl I was trying to use up. I created all the words with fonts from my computer and placed the words where I wanted them.

My problem came when I tried to adhere the vinyl to the canvas. IT WON'T STICK!! I was so annoyed but wasn't giving up. I actually went word by word and put a thin layer of modge podge underneath. Unfortunately, not everything ended up super straight because it slipped around but now it is dry and not going anywhere.

I definitely love the look of it and I have some ideas for my kitchen and other areas using this technique. I just need to figure out what is going to work best!

Oh well... live, learn and then try it again a different way :-)

Have a great day!

Laundry Humor!

Hi Everyone!

Today I have a fun project for you that I have been wanting to do for awhile. I have seen this on a lot of message boards and thought it would be a cute way to spruce up my laundry room! I had left over bits of vinyl that I used on this project and it ended up being about 13.5 inches wide. It easily adhered to the cabinet over my hamper and I LOVE IT!!

haha! Isn't it fun?!

Have a great Monday!

Simple Birthday Card

Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a simple card that I was able to put together in less than 15 minutes!! The best thing about this card is it can easily be changed into a thank you, thinking of you, or many other sentiments just by changing what you write on the tag! I used one of Pink Cricut's stamps for the Happy Birthday!

Have a wonderful day!

My First Glass Etching project!

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year! One of my resolutions is to do a much better job keeping up with my blog. I was out of town the entire first week of January so this is my first post of the New Year!

I have been wanting to try glass etching for awhile but was afraid that I would mess it up so I kept holding off. Well, I found a cute jar with lid at Walmart and wanted to fill it with homemade cookies for a sweet friend of mine. She LOVES anything Disney so I decided to try my hand at etching Mickey ears onto the jar.

I used vinyl to make the stencil and put plenty of etching cream on, waited ten minutes and washed it off! I was amazed at how well it turned out!

Happy New Year!!
